Content Update & Introduction for Full Release

In case there is any deliberation about any changes in the content of The Mad Scientist, here is a short intro. As previously stated, the pre-release version was very much an introduction. As an update from the 2 existing quests, there are now 16 quests (3 more in construction - these will be included in the released version). The mod also consists of more puzzles as well as humour and foolishness, as well as a very original storyline.

The story begins in Imperial City, where rumours spring of a strange man living in Lake Rumare. Rumour is often founded in fact, and the PC can find this character, who lives in a Shipwreck in the said location. Your meeting ensues in a series of pointless silly quests, fun and light hearted, but not too taxing. However, you are soon inexplicably embroiled in a long storyline combating a strange hybrid creature...

The Mod has new Weapons (retex's), Clothes(retex's), Robes (retex's), Sheilds (retex's), Items (retex's), NPC's, Books, Architecture (retex's) and more.

Feel free to use the Meshes and Textures I have provided with this Mod, but recognision would be greatly appreciated - A lot of my time has gone into this project!

Delays...

I apologise for the delays in releasing the final version of the mod, there are a series of reasons for this. The main one, predictably is too much work, and unforseen distractions. Either way, the mod should be finished soon, I am up to the final quest, and glitch testing, which should be completed by the end of the week.

Once it is complete, it will be worth the wait...

New Items!

Finally cracked the remeshing and texturing. There are now a series of new textured statics, as well as new clothes and weapons. This will be released in V1.0, which is now very close to completion.

V 1.0

Coming Very Soon!
A massive amount of work has gone into the mod to get to this point. The quests have all been revamped and rescripted to make them more efficient, including adding a number of new ones. The Castle has also been touched up including fixing the labyrinth, and glitchy bits. It also has new rooms to explore, and new items to get, new people to meet... Although there are still no custom made items, we are hoping to have these done as a post-release add-on. There's also been a lot of work put into making the mod look like a proper released mod should do... i.e quest icons, hopefully voice acting soon, lighting and textures etc. General glitches to do with the mod should also be sorted.

It should be ready for testing by the end of the week. Therefore, two weeks is an estimate as to general release date.

V 0.5 Updates

I'm currently working a labyrinth type dungeon in the castle, for a quest which hasn't fully formed in my mind yet (obviously suggestions would be nice). It's already rather large, so I dunno what I'm gonna do with it, but it will probably have to be a big quest! This will all come out in the V0.5 version of the mod. I've also changed the guest rooms so that they are connected with linking doors rather than a teleporter. I'm also thinking of doing the Voice Acting for the rumours etc for this version, just to get that out of the way. However, I won't be doing the Mad Scientist until the mod is complete.

The Mad Scientist Mod


We decided to upload the mod to see if we got some support for creating it. If we do, we'll finish it. And if we don't, we wont!The Mod adds a shipwreck in Lake Rumare, within which can be found a strange man called The Scientist. The Scientists home includes an unscaled room, evil room, upside down room, guest rooms, a random door, and many safe containers as well as a bed etc. This version only involves one short quest to find him, and another slightly longer quest. The mod is strange and quirky, and we hope to make it even more so, provided we get at least some support.The Mod is only the basic idea of what we want to do, and as mentioned above I have only written one quest for the Scientist. However, the one real quest which is there should give a good idea of what the finished version should be like! This is a work in progress, but the finished version should include voice acting (which it doesn't now) and quite a few quests.
